It varies more than most people expect: some start at 50 (Bealls Florida, AARP-linked offers), many at 55 (Ross, Michaels, most 55+ phone plans), and others at 60, 62, or 65 (Kohl's, Cinemark, the National Park Senior Pass, Great Clips). Every listing on this page states the exact qualifying age.
Why do so many senior discounts "vary by location"?
Most restaurant and retail chains are franchised, which means each owner decides whether to honor a senior discount. That's why one McDonald's gives a senior coffee and the one across town doesn't. Where a discount is franchise-dependent, we say so — and the safest move is always to call ahead.
