The quick answer: United offers senior fares for travelers 65+ only in certain markets — there is no across-the-board discount.

The details

United does not publish a standing senior discount percentage. Senior fares for travelers 65 and older exist only in select markets and on select routes, and where they exist they are often no cheaper than the regular sale fare. United’s booking tool lets you set a traveler’s age category to ‘Senior (65+)’ so any senior pricing on your route appears automatically; you can also ask United reservations (1-800-241-6522) whether a senior fare exists for your route. Always compare against the standard fare before booking.

How to claim it

Select the ‘Senior (65+)’ traveler category when searching on united.com, or call United reservations to ask about senior fares on your route. (Qualifying age: 65+.)
